I was pleased to wake up this morning and find the world had not ended. We had a little snow on the ground and a patch of ice or two, but that was about it.
Please let me know if the world starts ending where you are and welcome to the Winter Solstice.

I am an avid gun enthusiast. I like guns. I think I have a right to own one given me by the second amendment. I do not own anything you would consider to be an assault weapon. At least I don’t think I do. You may think my Marlin .22 that holds 18 rounds is an assault weapon. That would make you ignorant. However, it is very dangerous and more people are killed by a .22 than any other gun in the world. It shoots a tiny little projectile that can travel over two miles. If it enters your body, it is gonna bounce off of bones and shred thru organs and tissues. It is the favorite gun used by hitmen as it is nearly untraceable and quite effective. I have a couple .22’s, a couple of handguns and a couple of shotguns. I would be formidable in any gunfight using the same or similar weapons.
Mostly I use my guns to hunt birds (pheasants and doves) and shoot targets.
All guns are weapons and all weapons are made to kill and injure. I just don’t know how anyone could walk into an elementary school and start double-tapping little kids. It is beyond me. I tried to avoid the news and the media frenzy last Friday and again on Saturday. I succeeded. However, as is my wont, I watched the show CBS Sunday Morning and soon found myself in tears. You have to be pretty fucked-up in the head to do what that idiot did.
Not that it would have been any better in an office with adults or in an old folks home with older people, but at least they would have understood what was going on and have had some semblance of a chance to escape or stop the shooter. Six year olds can’t do that.
I posted the above pic to show that the world goes on, the healing has begun and we won’t soon forget.

For a sitar player, Ravi Shankar was pretty good. May he rest in peace.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is now officially off of my shit list and I can lift my embargo/boycott.
RUSH has finally been made an inductee. (Pending formal ceremony; I am waiting for the call to present them into the HOF).
Now, we must campaign hard for Deep Purple and YES to share a spot with Donna Summer and Public Enema.

I saw this article and could not resist. I will not be cheering for Notre Dame because, well, my team is playing them and I have my reasons.
Roll Tide. Only four weeks to go. Or is it five?

It’s come to this. A single mom making $69,000 annually is better off quitting that job, taking a part time gig and getting on government assistance.
