Week in Review

The above picture is from the most dangerous city in the world, Mogadishu, Somolia. It also is a pretty good representation of how my week went.

I spent three days in Tampa at a mediation. Those people HATE each other and that doesn’t bode well for a successful settlement discussion when they are all in the same room glowering at each other and hurling insults and claims of fault across the room. We spent over 12 hours (mostly sitting around doing nothing) and did not settle the case that at one time should have resolved for under $250k and is now not settling with $1.5 million on the table. Completely FUBAR. I predict at least one more legal malpractice claim that will come out of this situation.

In addition to the mother in Yarbz post below, I nominate this English couple who can’t seem to find employment, yet won’t stop breeding as Fucktards of the Week. They are clear representations of what is wrong with the world today.

I found this story about the aptly named Devil’s Lake in North Dakota to be interesting.

I think Yarbz should take this trip. I think he must already own a tiny piece of Scotland.

Did you miss Facebook when it was down yesterday? I did not.

There can only be one Fucktard of the Week this week: Pastor Terry Jones, who plans to burn Korans (or Qur’ans) tomorrow on the anniversary of 9-11. What an idiot. He and his 50 person church are all idiots. If one person is hurt as the result of his actions, he should be charged with conspiracy and treason and then chopped up and fed to the “reverend” Fred Phelps. The entire kerfuffle is breeding copycats. Why does this merit ANY attention from the media? The really bothersome thing is that we are giving the bad guys more reason to hate us, even though everyone is condemning what Fucktard Jones is up to here, he will never understand. He is too effing stoopid to get it, even though it now appears he is calling it off (or maybe not) because he thinks they are gonna move the Mosque away from ground zero. The anniversary of 9-11 should be honored and sanctified, not ridiculed and spat upon. We should not incite more violence and invite more attacks and if Pastor Jones wants to torch a Koran, that is up to him, but he better watch his back. I guarantee that we have not heard the last of this attention whore.

Blazes in both CA and CO have lit up the night sky this week.

There was lots of talk around Chicago this week about our next Mayor since Daley has decided to not seek re-election. Mayor Emmanuel just does not have the same ring to it.
