The death Triad is complete.

I was fired from a job I had for 24 years one month ago. I have spent this entire time trying to find new employment and yesterday I accepted an offer to manage a claim unit at a new employer. I am facing the longest commute I have ever had, but it is a great job with a good comapny and I an VERY relieved to have a place to go Tuesday morning. It is likely that I will buy a more economical vehicle (very used) becuase my van is not going to be affordable to drive that far every day.
Being fired during this recession has been scary. I really didn’t think that my infraction of the rules at Small Cubicle Insurance Company deserved the penalty that I received. I thought I deserved a first and final warning. I was told that my years of service and performance would be taken into account. That could not have been true. I never got a poor performance review. Ever. I was there for nearly a quarter of a century. Oh well. I can’t tell you how pleased I am that I was only out of work for one month and have a new job. The oil disaster in the Gulf has lasted longer than I was out of a job.
I feel for the people of Louisiana as well as Alabama and Florida. I am angry that BP and the government seemed to be lollygagging at first and just saw an infrared picture of the area and it is shocking. Can’t they invent some machine that sucks up the water and oil, separates it and return the clean water to the Gulf and sends the oil to be made into gasoline? Why has it taken so long to get to Kevin Coster’s centrifuge idea? I read about it before I lost my job.
I also feel for the other people in this country that are out of work and struggling to make ends meet. I was going bonkers and trying to keep busy. I made certain that I got up every day, shaved and kept to a routine of searching for employment every day as my new job. I also took the opportunity to work-out daily and lose about thirty pounds (so far). I feel great and don’t plan to stop eating better and getting more excercise.
Gary Coleman just died. I am sure that Willis is heartbroken.
What do you all think about the new immigration laws in Arizona? I think that situation will get worse before it gets any better.
The weather has been fantastic and Spazticus should be here shortly to help with a minor skirmish on beer. Sal Uki may be joining us later.
Sorry to have not posted in so long. I think you can all understand. I may be sporadic in my postings from this point forward, but I will be around and watching and reading. I just can’t promise a WIR every week with my new responsibilities. No pics this post due to the dinosaur of a computer I am working with at home. It should be a boat anchor or a museum piece.
How about those Blackhawks! I think they are gonna win the Stanley Cup for the first time since before I was born.
Happy healthy weekends to all!
Where is everyone? Where is the WIR? Where is FB, old wise FB? Is this place dead now? WTF!!!

This shit is SO FUNNY! I know a lot of us are movie buffs, so I guessing that several of us have seen GRIND HOUSE, the ‘poitation homage’ film from Quinton Tarantino & Robert Rodriguez. One of my favorite parts was the fake ‘Coming Attractions’ they had, including a film called MACHETE. Total over the top camp ’70’s humor… really funny shit.
ANYWAY: Rodriguez has now done a full-length version of MACHETE, coming out this fall. He released the trailer [preview] on May 5th, Cinco de Mayo. It included a political message for ‘Arizona’, which if you are hip to the joke, is very funny. Well maybe not so funny for some people. Follow the link and watch the video clip before you read the rest.
Read about it HERE!

The police haven’t.
Police said a Pittsfield woman has been cited for running down Lord Jesus Christ as he crossed the street in Northampton.
Officers responding to Tuesday’s incident checked the 50-year-old Belchertown man’s ID and discovered that, indeed, Lord Jesus Christ is his legal name.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor facial injuries.
Police said 20-year-old Brittany Cantarella was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
