SOME PICS AND A STORY FROM TODAY AND THE LAST COUPLE DAYS:
Feste and his needles and scalpels were in action again on my upper butt cleavage. I went to see him this afternoon due to a Pilonidal Cyst that had recently returned. I originally met Feste about three years ago for “The Original Cyst” (Sounds like a classic H-wood horror film…). He fixed the old cyst and I wrote a rather long story about the experience. Feste ended up finding the story online many months later and commented on the blog. Since that time, he has become a good friend and has been a fixture on Juggernuts.Anyway, my cyst returned just before I am go off on a 10-day business trip. Just my luck… Last weekend I sent Feste a text message to see if I could get a prescription for an antibiotic to fight this new cyst and head it off at the pass. The last time I felt one coming on, we did the same thing and it quickly went away. Not so this time. It kept getting worse and worse and I began to feel that it was going to need a little surgical artistry performed upon it.
This morning, Thursday the 4th of December 2008, I contacted Feste’s new office and scheduled an appointment for some intervention on my callipygian cleft (Thanks Limeliters!). I had to arrange a ride since I take the bus and managed to get El Spouso to leave work and take me to the commuter parking lot to get my car to drive down to the expected slicing and dicing. I had no fear or loathing of this procedure because I had been through it before when I didn’t know what the problem was. This time there was no scary wondering what it might be…
Upon arrival at Feste’s new office, it was quickly noted that he has moved up in the world! This place is grand, new and bright. It’s a temple of surgery with granite counters and high ceilings. After filling out the duplicative new patient paperwork I was called into the bowels of the temple into a room containing a power surgical table and some stainless steel bits and pieces. The nurse told me that “the doctor” would soon be in and I waited for the brilliant bohenian butt bisecting beer imbiber or to arrive.
Once he got in the room, he took a look and the suspect cleavage lump and decided that it was not as bad as the original one. That was clearly true but this one ended up yielding a good couple ounces of red green brown gel like liquid. It actually looked like a slightly stirred shot called a “Bloody Brain” which is made from strawberry schnapps, Bailey’s and grenadine. Before the jelly juice was to be extracted there was the matter of the rather large syringe containing some sort of all-important deadening agent. The injection hurt a little but the worst pain was definitely the multiple high pressure cleeve squeeze to force the thick yucky goop out.
Well, it’s about an hour since I left the office and things are still quite sore. I think it will be OK though and Feste will be looking at it again tomorrow to make sure things are well prior to my trip.
This is just one more saga of Yarbz travel complications…
Jigga, I guess now known as Jason, is wearing a sling for the next 6 weeks or so. He had triple quadruple triangulated extra mangulated shoulder surgery recently so he is incapacitated. He’s going through physical therapy which appears as though it’s going to be long and hard. In about 26 weeks docs are stating the he will be back to normal. ‘Normal’ however is in the eye of the beholder. It will take far far longer for him to be normal if ever. As for the shoulder, he’ll be back to action in the late Spring, just in time for Harley season. This image is taken at the coffee place at Small Cubicle Insurance Company.
Somebody dropped off some fudge in the office here at Small Cubicle Insurance Company. I fought the desire to eat it for several hours and then ended up having three pieces. It was not bad but I was trying to stay away from sweets… thanks for whoever brought it in.

4444 MILES ON THE GTI LAST FRIDAY:
The GTI went 4444 miles as of Friday, November 14, 2008 and it happened just as I parked in the commuter lot. I would usually have a lot more on a car by then but I take the commuter bus and that saves about 20 miles a day. So far the car is performing great and there have been no issues other than being hit and run a month ago or so. It’s going to have the 5000 mile service next month…

TWO IMAGES FROM SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2008:
This is the Miss Washington Diner in New Britain. Mariann and I usually go there for breakfast on the weekends. Today I was on my own as she had a meeting at work.
This was taken at about 1740hrs on the messy bar. This is my new Stag AR-15 Model 2T. Most excellent! I am glad to have it as it appears that the assault weapons bans may be revived in the early months of 2009…

A FEW IMAGES FROM TODAY AND THE WEEKEND:
The spouse leaves Lowes with some baseboards and some primer Sunday morning. We bought two 12 foot boards which the Lowes saw guy cut into four 6 footers… That is the only way I could fit them in the GTI/ We wrapped them in a sheet and stuffed them in the back hatch up to the front seat. They are pre-primed and the first time I bought some the white got all over the car. This time we didn’t get any of the white inside. The utility room and basement look so much better with baseboards. We got used to living without them over the last two or three years, but now were about sixty percent finished with the baseboards.
Here are some of the tools on my desk that I used on a daily basis. The apple is a recent thing for me. I am trying to eat healthy things more often. When I get back from the gym at 1400hrs I am usually hungry. The apple really does the trick and gives me a little energy until I eat again at home.
This is the file I am currently going through and drafting a report for a claim review that is coming up early next week. It’s a big one that involves a dude who had his leg crushed in a foam compressing machine. Ouch! We are heading toward trial in the next few weeks and it does not look like it’ll settle prior to that unless the defendant gets real about their exposure. We are a third-party defendant, sued by the defendant, not the plaintiff. We didn’t do anything wrong to cause the accident but can’t get out and keep racking up defense costs.
This is some of the scuffing damage to my fender from the hit and run dude. I dropped the car at the shop yesterday afternoon and they promise to do an excellent job. I hope they do as I will be expecting perfection. I shall pick it up Thursday evening if all goes well.
I picked up a Ford Focus rental car at the shop and this is the dash setup while sitting in the commuter lot. It’s OK. It has poor cornering and a loud lumbering four cylinder engine which will get me by. It is not nearly as comfortable either. I got used to the nice high sided seats in the GTI and also Satellite Radio. I am stuck with FM in Hartford which is just about as close to hell as you can image. We have crap radio here. Major crap. Only now and then can we find a college radio station playing a block of decent music. I must prefer the radio in Boston where we lived prior to coming to New Britain.
This is the sunrise in the rear view mirror at the commuter lot at 0615. I went to vote first thing in the morning and parked this temporary car in the church parking lot and went inside. There were about thirty people waiting for the doors to open. This is about four or five time the normal amount at this hour.

PICTURES FOR THE LAST FRIDAY IN OCTOBER:
Today is Halloween, 2008. I have nothing scary to share but here are two photos, one from today and one from yesterday:
Today I decided to put on the older of the SCIC pins that I have. This was bought at the same tag/garage sale where the other one was found. The lady’s hubby had worked for SCIC all his like and has passed away. She was selling the house and the stuff. This one is, I believe, the first use of the Umbrella for SCIC. The ribs of the umbrella with the “T” date back to the late 1950′s. As you saw in the picture earlier this week, the next logo dropped the ribs and kept the “T”. The umbrella also became symmetrical in the second logo. This first one looks as though it was been in a wind storm and got misshapen. It’s fun to have these old pins.
This was shot from the hip leaving the bus on Thursday morning at 0645hrs. The lady in front is one of the riders on my bus. She is a total curmudgeon. She is very unhappy about everything and no matter what anyone says to her she always says the opposite. If you tell her it is a nice day, she will tell you it is not and give you some personal insight into why. We all just quit talking to her. Of course we get on the bus at 0630 in the morning so I guess being a little grumpy is acceptable. However, she’s like this even on the ride home at 1600 (She is the reason I added the BSFF category to this post). I have always liked long exposure blur shots. This type of image tends to pass on more of the actual ambiance of the scene that a flashed or tripod photograph.

I WORE IN AN OLD PIN THAT DATES BACK SOME 50 YEARS:
I found this and about 10 others at a tag sale (yard sale or garages sale for you non-New Englanders) about three years ago. I think I have an older one as well which has the umbrella ribs in gold with a “T”… The Travelers Umbrella is a well known advertising icon. It was great to find all these old ones. I wore it in on one of my old sport coats… Today is supposed to be rainy with wind gusts up to 50 mph about the time we leave. Joy of joys…

2 PICS FROM THE OKTOBERFEST PARTY A COUPLE WEEKS AGO:
This is the old stein I was drinking out of at the party… It was old and had not had beer in many many years. It was happy to be hydrated again… By the way, the man on the glass is hand painted and exquisitely detailed…
This is my brother-in-law Chuck who threw the Oktoberfest party. It was rocking and full of beer.

PICS FOR TODAY:
This is my mirror which was busted up in the Friday night hit and run… The plate i got ended up being wrong or from another car. The cops can’t help and I have gone through my insurance carrier to fix. I’ll need a new mirror and new wheel as well as some minor body work on the front fender. The appraiser will check the car out this week but I am expecting a $1500 price tag. If I ever see the dudes car i will give the info to the cops and carrier and see if they can subrogate against him. He is likely a no job loser who rents a junky dive and also has a junky car which is now a little junkier…
This is Spousalopogus with her coffee in the Miss Washington Diner this morning. We ate breakfast and then came home to work on painting doors and trim in the utility room. It’s coming along well.
