I REMEMBER SEEING A SHOW ABOUT THE MEGA VOLCANIC ERUPTIONS THAT COULD OCCUR IN YELLOW STONE:

fox-news-yellowstone-disaster-coming

The TV show was based on science fact and played out the way a disaster of biblical proportions would happen… It started with lots of little earthquakes… while a long shot, it would ruin our day for sure. Stock up on canned good and ammunition! :-)

OLD JUGGERNUTS SITE

FYI TO ALL JUGGHEADS: I have requested a copy of the old program that ran the ‘Old Jugg’ site. If this works, we may have full access to the old blog dating back to September 2003 which should include comments and ‘more’ sections. I will need help once I get the program so volunteers are needed. I know Trench is smart enough but I think he is very busy. Feste knows somebody who may be able to help. I will have to host the old site separately so we’ll have to see how it goes. I would really like to have to old stuff up again as there were some classic posts with pics and stories that should not be lost to history.

Stay tuned

GAS PASSING STUDENTS AREN’T ALWAYS FUN!

STUART, Fla. (AP) – A student at a Florida school has been arrested after authorities said he was “passing gas” and turned off his classmates’ computers

I will admit to having passed a few good farts but never one that could turn off my friends computers!

CHILLY RIDE INTO SMALL CUBICLE INSURANCE COMPANY THIS MORNING:

[0658hrs] – Hartford, Connecticut - Today is Friday and it’s also United Way Denim Day. Anyone who wants to can wear jeans if you pay $5 towards the United Way charity. It’s a little steep as last year was $1… Still, our big boss hates denim and therefore it’s rare to wear jeans.

In any case, since I was wearing jeans I decided to ride the bike in even though it was only 43 degrees this morning. I have no windshield but I don’t take the highway and didn’t go above 45 mph. It was still a bit nippy but this afternoon it’ll be perfect and that makes it worth the numb nose.

Another plus is that while cars have to pay Small Cubicle Insurance Company something like $120/month to park in this garage, bike park free! Yes, that right boys and girls, bike park free! This is a great motivator to save on gas at the expense of body heat.

While it looks like mine is the only bike in the bike area, there are actually about 4 others that are parked on the opposite side behinds the concrete wall on the left. Also, as I rode in, I noted several other bikers, most however, with windshields and fairings.

There are not too many more days left to ride here in the Northeast. There may be another two weeks of day riding. The mornings are just about over. Then, once the first freeze hits and the sand and salt are applied to the roads, the bike stays in the garage and the battery comes out and sits in the basement. Last year I left the battery in and tried to start it once a week instead. That was a bad idea because by December the battery had run out of juice. I bought a battery tender and took the battery out and hoped it would start in the spring. I did end up saving the battery and it has never failed to charge the starter yet. This year I will be playing it smart and keep it warm.

One of the nice things about my new Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 is that it fits in my leather jacket pocket when I ride. That is about all for this morning. Happy Friday!

Thank you ford!

65 MPG Ford You Can’t Buy

Ford’s Fiesta ECOnetic gets an astonishing 65 mpg, but the carmaker can’t afford to sell it in the U.S.

Ford’s 2009 Fiesta ECOnetic goes on sale in November. But here’s the catch: Despite the car’s potential to transform Ford’s image and help it compete with Toyota Motor and Honda Motor in its home market, the company will sell the little fuel sipper only in Europe.

Political humor

A sleek black luxury car speeds down a Southern dirt road. It stops next to a farm pond. A man exits the car and kneels down beside the water and uses his hand to drink.

A farmer exits the hereby house and shouts to the man: “Hay, don’t drink that! My cows shit in there!”

The man from the car stands up and holds his hand to his ear as if to indicate he can’t hear the farmer.

The farm yells louder: “DON’T DRINK THAT WATER, IT’S FULL OF SHIT!!!”

The man from the car, with an ‘Obama For President’ sign on the side, replies: “ah, that’s what I love about being down South, you’re quaint dialects…”

The farmer replies even louder: “USE BOTH HANDS!!!”
