A Non-Partisan Look at the 2008 Election

Recently, I have been debating politics with some whose only sources of information are the agenda-laden blogs (Huffington et al). I decided I was tired of people who would only argue emotions and not facts and found this site. Now you can all discuss intelligently without parroting the last talking head/radio talk show host you saw/heard about this year’s campaign.

Vote Gopher

Now, you can have some real fun with the opposing side!

OK STUPID FICKS…

Twice As Many Murdered In Chicago Than Died In Iraq This Summer

INTERESTING ESSAY FROM FAT GUY WITH PONY TAIL, PENN JILLETTE:

Here is an interesting quote I like:

“The choice shouldn’t be which lesser of two evils should have the enormous power of our modern presidents. The question should be, who would do less as president? Who would leave us alone?”

HERE IS THE WHOLE THINGY

SARAH PALIN THE SUBJECT OF THIS PIECE:

Here is an excerpt from the beginning. Click on the link below to read the whole piece:

ST. PAUL — The little lady from the wild has dispatched rafts of butterflies - the big monarchs - to unsettle the tummies of Democrats. Throwing a handful of dirt at a girl and her mama didn’t work the way everybody thought it would.

Sarah Palin is the match waiting to ignite a convention eager to get on fire for its own American idol, to rage against the Democrats and the pious arrogance of the insufferable media machine, whose campaign of intimidation of the convention has so far failed. The convention is still crazy about Sarah.

Barack Obama, trying to calm his crazies, is reduced to boasting that he does, too, have as much executive experience as Sarah Palin.

GLENN BECK HITS SOME NAILS ON THE HEAD:

There’s some excellent reading in Beck’s latest. Here is an excerpt from Glenn Beck Column for Aug 28, 2008:

Michelle Obama: “That’s why I left a job at a law firm for a career in public service, working to empower young people to volunteer in their communities.”

Michelle Obama’s chosen career path led her to make $275,000 per year at a private hospital. Is that really a “public service” job?

It seems to me that a Republican wouldn’t be able to get away with such a generous assessment of their résumé. They would surely be harassed for making a six-figure salary inside the evil health care industry, while millions suffer without insurance.

Executive Summary

CATAGORIES: 2008 presidential election, barack obama, john mccain — FloridaBill @ 9:51 pm

I know that some of you don’t like to read long drawn out missives…so here’s the executive summary of the candidates experience in both Congress and the Military:

John McCain has 26 Years in Congress and 22 years in the military.

Barrack H. Obama has about 143 DAYS in Congress (if he bothered to show up at all and most of that campaigning for the Presidency) and ZER0 time in the military.

Summary Concluded. Any questions?
