This is 1971… This image was taken on our front lawn at 1946 Foothills Road, Golden Colorado. The house was just about one or two miles from the Coors brewery. We lived in a new development which was literally right as the base of the Rocky Mountains. I used to go hike into the mountains with friends, it was a great couple years. We lived there from 1970 to 1972 after which my dad was transferred to another office and we moved to Huntington Beach, CA. This image contains my brother Paul (left), Yarbz (center) and my buddy who flew out to visit from San Clemente, CA, Lincoln (Link) Bolton (right). Paul and I are holding my 40mm anti-aircraft shells and Link is holding an anti-tank or personnel rocket that that I bought at some surplus store. I don’t know why we’re holding them or what we were doing at the time the photo was taken. I have completely lost touch with Link and can’t even locate him via Facebook or other sites… We were a little troublesome when we were together. A couple years earlier, I signed up with some company to sell flower seeds door to door while we lived in San Clemente, CA. Depending on how much you sold, you got to pick out gifts from a catalog the company gave you. I selected a pickaxe and when it arrived I brought it over to Links house. He got his pickaxe and we proceeded to chop down his neighbors’ fence. I lost my pickaxe privileges for a while after that. Also, during Link’s visit pictured above, we bothered, significantly, our pretty neighbor girl, Allison Cox, who was our age. We pretended to have cameras and ran around her in circles repeating over and over, “Penthouse Photographer, Penthouse Photographer” until she ran inside crying. Kids… (Scanned from the original 126 negative on February 10, 2009)
