POOTER SATCHMO DIAGNOSED WITH MALIGNANT TUMOR ON HIS TONGUE :-(

We just got back from the vet and Satchmo has cancer. We will probably have to send him off on a kitty journey in three or so weeks… Sad news… He is a good pooter. We figure he is about 15 to 16 years old…

Here is a pic of pooter Satchmo from 2001:

I am very saddened to hear about Satchmo. He has lived a good long life so far. It is never easy to send them on a journey beyond your petting hands, but he will be happy in cat heaven. I have sent many of my cats that direction and the majority of them left without me getting to say goodbye. I remember them all and continue to enjoy the comfort they gave to me, asking nothing in return except a good pet, some food, water, and catnip every now and then. I wish strenth to you and Mariann when the time comes to say goodbye to your sweet Sachmo. It won’t be easy.

It’s not easy already… He is a cool cat. When we have a party he does not disappear like most cats, he stay and fights for a seat at the bar! Thanks for the kind words CJ…

    Yarbz,

Sounds like Satchmo has lived a long and happy life. I know this part sucks! Just remember you are the best dad he has got. Damn if these animals feel just like kids!

    I feel for you!

That sucks. I’m sorry to hear that. I know how hard it can be.

Sorry for Satch Yarbzy. I know you and I are childless and to us the critters are like kids. Big manly hug for you and M.

Dane, how much $/month would it take to move up here, crawl around on your arms and legs and poop in a box? Granted, you’re a little bigger than our current cat, but Satchmo can’t BBQ…

My total sympathies. Satch is a great cat and it is super tough to see pets go, but he has brought many smiles and spread a lot of cat love in his time. I am certain that you and Mariann are devastated. I am very sorry.

Thanks everyone. He is still doing OK but has begun to hide a little. He is able to eat soft food and seems to be about 70%… I doubt he will be here for March 19th JuggFest/BDay/Jam…

On that note, remember, anyone who can make it for the 19th and 20th of March should come over and hangout as we shall crank the vinyl, possibly make a song and wage war on beer.

    He will be missed.
