When these and other troops come home, I think we owe them a smile, respect and a beer or two. I have not passed up the opportunity to buy a beer for a vet. It’s all to rare an opportunity however…

Our troops have given up all comforts they had at home to fight for our country. The war is getting tougher in Afghanistan and many more of them are dying on a daily basis. It’s too bad we did not direct all of our forces to that country, instead of only sending maybe a 1/4th of them there (don’t hold me to that number) and the rest to Iraq. We probably would have overcome the Taliban, captured Bin Laden, and been out of there a year ago. Now, the troops are trudging farther and farther into the mountains. Walking and climbing are probably the only way to get anywhere in some of those mountains. I could not do the job they are doing. My heart goes out to them. I wish all could return safely home.
