I read a fascinating article about Basque country as it relates to “terrorist” hotspot successes. I think it was in Smithsonian magazine…..
Basically, the place was a mess, but Basque country is beautiful…ask Hemingway….and so apparently the EU moneybags noted that it was a great cheap place to buy a seaside condo… the place has gotten a huge injection of cash, everyone has great jobs, and they stopped bombing eachother.
I’ll see if I can find the article for you. I’ll come and visit. I hear it is vaahhry nice.

You would hate it there. Everyone speaks Spanish and they take naps every day in the afternoons. It is one of the least productive places ever. I do hear that it is beautiful and serene.
