They have a bye week. Next week’s drowning victim: Ole Miss (at home). I will be cheering for Texas to beat Oklahoma. Hook ‘em Horns! \m/

Who are the Tide going to wash away this weekend?

  3. FloridaBill says:

Thanks for the reminder post. Have fun at the game. I think I am a Phillies fan for the rest of the year, but I could revert back to a Dodgers fan at any moment.

On the brighter side, the Bulls have a pre-season game and the Blackhawks open this weekend I think. Go Bears!

    Roll Tide.

Wakefield is pitching game 4…. i love to watch the knuckler. Besides… he is my age. I’ve been tossing knuckleballs to my son all summer this year.

Feste, don’t you mean a knucklehead has been tossing baseballs to your son?

    I am SOOOOO psyched.

I was rejected for all opportunities to buy post season tix altogether – despite entering the drawing with 5 different email address.

Two years ago I was lucky enough to be chosen to purchase tickets to a Yanks/Sox game. 5 minutes in the virtual waiting room! Sweet.

That said, I know the agony of that virtual waiting room, though. Like a fool every year when single game tix go on sale I sit for hours with three separate computers and have yet to make it past that confounded virtual waiting room. Haven’t thought about using separate browsers though…good thinking.

I’m at the point now where I know enough people with access to seats that I can usually see a couple games each year without going through official ticket channels. I saw 3 games this year. I took my son for our first ever father/son Fenway trip. Worst game ever. Sox got shut out by the Jays – never got a runner past second!

Anyway – let me know if I get into your top 4! Actually I’m not even sure if I can swing it what with my crazy life.

  7. Feste says:

Yarbz, you are immediately behind Sloel, ( i have known him since the 7th grade, afterall). And Mrs. Yarbz can 8th or 9th.

This is kinda like if the President, Vice president, Speaker of the House, President pro Tem of the Senate all die in a plane crash.

I guess that means Al Haig is going to the game with me.

  8. Yarbz says:

Spouse is always number 1 on the list or you are in trouble! Can I be 7th or 8th?

  9. Feste says:

Sloel… did u get tix or just the chance to get tix?

I was pretty down on the whole thing until the “pick your seats” screen popped up. The naysayers in my office and at the hospital were all pessimistic. But I now hold the tix.

Sloel….. in the cosmic scene of things, you are roughly 6th in line to be my guest. You were 5th until my wife informed me she is 1st or second. Yet I don;t think she watched a whole game all year. Sheesh.

  10. Feste says:

I went online and signed up like three weeks ago. Monday I received an email saying from noon to 6 pm I was eligible to get a limit of 2 tix.

I tried with one browser window open for an hour and a half and was stuck in the “virtual waiting room”.

Then I opened four separate browsers (firefox, IE, chrome, and safari) and had them each waiting for me in the “virtual waiting room.”

45 minutes later I get in, and just like that I am holding grandstand tickets for game 4 at $100 each. If it heats up, I could always sell them, but methinks I’ll be there on Tuesday. I’ll sneak in my Canon G2 to snap some pics for the Jugg.

  11. sloel says:

Nice! It ain’t easy scoring tix on the Sox site. I’ve entered just about every ticket drawing they’ve ever held and only once have I had a chance to actually buy some.

Enjoy the game and dress warm!

  12. Yarbz says:

Feste gets tickets… Loser! How’d you get ‘em?

  13. Feste says:

Dodgers in the WS would bring out all those Yankee cranks. It would be a nice tribute to NYC if Joe Torre brought his team to the Big Series.

And even though he was a cancer in the clubhouse, I still like Manny. He’s an elite hitter and a TOTAL FLAKE.

    Go Phillies!!!

  14. WeirdSin says:

The Dodgers where merciful. No drama, no controversy,no fan getting in the way. Seems like the only problem was being on the cover of Sports Illustrated and getting that butt kicked. Go Dodgers !
I hope its the Red Sox vs Dodgers in the W.S.. Manny might have to wear catcher’s gear when up to bat at Fenway.
