Live blogging: White Sox win!

CATAGORIES: GENERAL NONSENSE — FloridaBill @ 10:00 pm

For the first time in 102 years, both Chicago baseball teams are in the playoffs. My prediction of a cross-town World Series is still alive. I wonder how they are taking the news at Schaller’s Pump?

I hope they hammer theRays! That’ll help the RedSox

  2. FloridaBill says:

I hope so too. And the Cubbies need to spank the Dodgers.

October baseball seems, somehow, more interesting this year.

  3. Yarbz says:

It’s more interesting anytime the Yankees are out of it.

I hope Manny and the Dodgers (even though I like the Dodgers usually) get pounded. Manny should not proceed past go.

First live MLB game i ever saw was Dodgers vs Cubs. Steve Garvey hit a line drive straight into the left field wall. Dodger fan ever since. So FB let the razzing begin. I do like the Cubs, just not right now. Go Slammy Manny! and Roll Tide ! ! !

  5. FloridaBill says:

 The Dodgers are good, or they wouldn’t be playing in October, but the Cubbies are clearly due. Cubs are favored in Vegas 3:1 to go All the Way. WeirdSin, you need to come to Chicago and see a game at Wrigley. I promise you a great time.

FB the last time the Dodgers won the World Series you where visiting from LA. We where in Trogg’s den watching Gibson hit that game winning homer. I jumped staight outa Big Jim’s chair and about hit the roof. I do look forward to a game at Wrigley. Good Luck to both teams.

I have, as you are aware, a failing memory. I do however recall that event. I was a Dodger fan at the time and that was one of the greatest moments in sports history. Today (and for most of my life) I am a Cubs fan. Last night, I was a fair weather White Sox fan. I would love to see a cross town series (since I have been predicting one since before the season started).

Since the Braves ain’t playing in October, I wonder who Trogg’s mom will be cheering for? She is such a baseball fan and has such a deep understanding of the game; I bet she is pulling for the Cubs…

  8. WeirdSin says:

Last week at Trogg’s his Mom was on an all day cooking spree. Talk about Yum ! Home made apple pie with real hand rolled pie crust. it was so flaky. As per her baseball the TV is as big as the den and she does love her Braves. I can understand the baseball team switch. Just don’t nix the Tide or we will have to do a Van Tifin pile up,with you on the bottom.

  9. FloridaBill says:

I would LOVE to be there when Ttrogg’s mom feels like cookin’ (or Ttrogg or YOU for that matter). I caught a little Spring baseball with her when I was down that way in April. She really loves the game.

I would never nix the Tide. Roll Tide Roll! I do think that Leigh Tiffin could use a good piling on at times…I also think Bama can run the table if we stay focused. One game at a time.

BTW, I was a Cubs fan before I was a Dodgers fan. My Mom is a lifelong Cubs fan which she got from her dad and my dad grew up liking the White Sox. Sorta like a Bama/Auburn mixed marraige. I was a Reds fan too since they used to do Spring training in Tampa and we could see them for fifty cents at Jose’ Lopez field when the team had names like Pete Rose, Johnny Bench and Joe Morgan.

It is no wonder I am so fucked up in the head.

I was a Red Sox fan to start and always like to see them do well. With no real hometown pro sports teams its hard to stick with just one team. Turn on the TV you just want to see a good close scoring game.
9 out of 10 people in both side of my family are for Auburn. I just knew better..
The pile on reference is when we where at your Lorna Rd Apt. watching the ’83 Iron bowl. When Tifin kicked the game winner we(a crowd) all pile on one another wiggling with joy.

I did no such thing. If I did, I was on top.
