“Some folks inherit star spangled eyes,
Ooh, they send you down to war, Lord,
And when you ask them, “How much should we give?”
Ooh, they only answer More! more! more! yoh,
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no military son, son.
It ain’t me, it ain’t me; I ain’t no fortunate one, one.
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate one, no no no,
It ain’t me, it ain’t me, I ain’t no fortunate son, no no no,”

Well…I guess that just about removes any probability of me voting for that ticket. Sounds like he’s trying to prep us for the ass reaming to come.

Hay, Mr. Biden can raise HIS taxes all he wants… just cut mine please!!!

  3. FloridaBill Says:

As suspected, his tax and spend philosophy comes shining thru.

  4. Conspiracy Dude Says:

The real ass reaming is going to be when your children and grand children have to pay for all of the bullshit that is going on right now.

Just to set the record straight - Obama plans on cutting taxes for 95% of the wage earners in this country. And if you fall in the 5% of the top and feel like shafting future generations with our debt…shame on you.

Just remember - Clinton raised taxes on the super-rich and created 24 million new jobs.

  5. Yarbz Says:

Cut spending… That is always the best way to save money.

Obama plan also includes: (WSJ): Obama also wants a permanent federal estate tax, with a top rate of 45%

    Also:

“He also proposes a raft of tax credits that taxpayers can receive if they engage in various government-specified activities.

Moreover, the tax credits would mostly go to those who pay little or nothing in federal income taxes. His trick is to make the tax credits “refundable.” Thus, if the tax credit is for $1,000, but the taxpayer would otherwise only pay $200 in taxes, the government would write a check to the taxpayer for $800. If the taxpayer pays nothing in federal income taxes, the government would pay him the whole $1,000.

Such credits are not tax cuts. Indeed, they should be called The New Tax Welfare”

…Overall, the bottom 60% of income earners pay less than 1% of federal income taxes on net. When “tax credits” primarily go to this group in the form of checks from the government (rather than a reduction in their tax burden) it is simply an abuse of the language to call the spending a tax cut…

  6. Conspiracy Dude Says:

I could care less about the “financial hardships” of the top 5% of the income earners in this country. You can call it socialism of whatever else you’d like, but as a country that likes to call itself a Christian nation it would seem to me that we should live up to that. Jesus kicked over the tables of the money changers, and it’s about time everyone else did too.

Fuck em if they don’t like it. Being greedy isn’t gonna help solve the problems this country has right now. The cause is not the solution, and until EVERYONE wakes up to that fact we keep running up the debt for future generations.

But who cares about them? Lets be greedy now, and let other peoples kids solve all of this when we’re gone.

Neither to I so that’s OK

You can call it socialism of whatever else you’d like, but as a country that likes to call itself a Christian nation it would seem to me that we should live up to that. Jesus kicked over the tables of the money changers, and it’s about time everyone else did too

    That was in a church/temple.

I don’t think wanting less taxes is being ‘greedy’. Less spending is best.

  8. Conspiracy Dude Says:

I don’t disagree with you that wanting less taxes doesn’t make someone greedy, but I think a willingness to pass the current debt on to future generations does. We own it we need to fix it, and if that means more taxes - well we have it coming. We vote for the people who spend this money, and the idea that somehow we shouldn’t be held responsible for the repercussions is greed in it’s worst form.

While I’m not keen on Obama and Biden at least they’re being honest about what needs to happen. I would rather the rich pay more taxes than have America continue to be throttled by China and whoever else we’re borrowing all this money from.

  9. Spazticus Says:

Spazticus for President…free beer for all.

  10. Yarbz Says:

CD, we’re not disagreeing. I don’t advocate pushing the debt to anyone. Let’s cut costs, cut taxes and zero the debt.

I would even like to go back to isolationism to a certain extent. Let the rest of teh planet do what they will and we’ll do what we will…

  11. Houston Says:

I’m confused. Let’s not pass on the debt to future generations, but vote for BO because he wants to cut taxes for 95% of us and raise them on the top 5%? Really, you meant “let us not let the 5% pass on the debt to future generations and let’s get a tax cut too?” The Democrats have made clear that they will not extend the Bush tax cuts. Thus, there will be an automatic tax increase in 2011. BO will throw a few one time credits to you if you do what he wants. Good luck to us all.

  12. Yarbz Says:

Good point Houston. 95% of us don’thave to pay of the debt for our children… Leave that to the 5%… Anyway, I don’t have kids and don’t plan to so I will pss the debt off to YOUR children, the little bastards!

  13. FloridaBill Says:

IMHO, greed is the number one problem in America. Tax credits, cuts, raises or discounts ain’t gonna solve that issue. Only honesty and integrity and the wisdom brought by working hard and doing a good job and earning what you get and owning responsibility will do that. Greed is what took down Bear Stearns, Lehman, AIG, and the bastards at Enron. If it is patriotic for Americans to pay taxes, shouldn’t we ALL pay taxes? Like 75% of the foreign corporations in this country that don’t? If we need to pay we more tax to right the ship, then we ALL need to shoulder some of that burden. I don’t want to have to support Joe Crackpipe or illegal immigrants with 20 kids. We need to get away from the welfare state and on to being productive, working, contributing citizens. Let’s not have the people who work hard and have been responsible citizens supporting the people who want handouts or prefer to drink in the streets as opposed to getting a job and making a difference in their own lives. Equity should be in the forefront of these discussions and not the liberal “have the rich pay for everything” mentality of the far left.

The “debt bailout” plan revealed yesterday just pisses me off. You mean if greedy business folks invested in stupid stuff, now the federal government (and you and me) get to share in their pain? Re-gotdamn-diculous. Let them fail and let someone who isn’t so freaking greedy take their place and be conservative in their spending and investing.

Yarbz has it right about spending less but, frankly, I agree with CD (for the most part) on this issue. However, Joe Biden has now shown his true colors and he doesn’t have it right any more than Sarah Palin’s retarded baby does.

Please quote me on that if you feel the need.

  14. Yarbz Says:

    FB for POTUS!

  15. Conspiracy Dude Says:

Spazticus still gets my vote with his free beer campaign.
