Breaking News From Henley
Just in from the chicken wire fence network, my daughter graduated May 12, 2008, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Teeto, as she is loving known by her family. will be on the way to live in the city of the Arch beginning May 16th. May 19th, she will be the one who determines what your property is worth in the county of the Arch, having landed a good government job that pays more salary than her mother receives after all these years. I am extremely proud of Teeto. Congratulations to my beautiful daughter!
Current hubby has been working 9 hours a day, 4 days a week, plus 8 on Friday and Saturday. Out of the blue, he was offered a side job doing interior painting. He now works Sunday as well, painting for a couple who own three beautiful Harleys and one Harley trike, which solely belongs to the wife. The husband had a horrible motorcycle wreck which left him with a brain injury. He no longer rides, but starts them and dreams. He won’t ride behind his wife on the trike - doesn’t look right he states, and Mike agrees with him that it just isn’t right for a man to behind his woman. Mike likes his side job and it has already turned into an entire summer business. May the money roll in while gas prices rise to a record high - today $.3.59 a gallon.
My Marine brother, as a National Guard member, is currently in Kansas and will soon be deployed to Iraq for the third time. What is there to say when your youngest brother has chosen to leave his family, even though retirement was an option, to fight a war that George W. Bush began? I love you brother. May angels ride on your shoulders and you return home safely. When you come home brother, Shrub will be gone and a democrat president will have said “It’s time to come home!” That will be the best day I have had in a long long time.
It’s very strange tonight. Someone is mowing and weed eating our yard. We don’t have time anymore and the lawn mower is in the shop. I am stimulating the economy and I haven’t even received my stimulus check yet. I must say, to see someone else mowing my yard is a very good feeling. While the mowing is going on, Mike is grilling pork steaks. Life is good. Where can you get one and a half acres mowed and weed eated for $60? Life is grand

Congratulations to Teeto and her Momma!
I think you and Mike should buy one of those Harleys with all this extra stimulus dough.
Can you send the person who is mowing your yard to my house?

Harley good, work bad…
Tell your bro to be safe and respect him for his sacrifice.
I hate mowing and shall endeavour to drink instead of mowing.

How did Henley do with the recent wrath of Mother Nature?

Thanks everyone.
Henley didn’t do so bad wind-wise, but so far this year we have been unable to get to work due to flooded roads three times. They had to open all twelve gates on the dam at the Lake of the Ozarks, which caused my beloved Osage River to back up into the bottoms below our house. That seems to have pushed the deer and turkey farther up hill and I have been seeing one or the other nearly everyday.
Rain has been good for the annual mushroom hunt. We’ve found one plastic grocery bag of morel mushrooms so far this year. Their time is probably up since the leaves are fully on the trees now. Around here, you can sell them for up to $50 a pound, but I like them to well to sell them.
Mike tried to work a deal to get a harley for his labor. Unfortunately the couple know how much one of their harleys cost and Mike’s labor charges don’t even come close. One day though, I’m going to get myself a harley and ride topless around my workplace. I’ve heard if you act like you are nuts, you can get social security and stay home all the time. Today, home is where I want to be.
What’s the weather like in your area Dane? Hope you didn’t get any wind damage. FB, is your pool ready to go yet?
