Ryan Newman (no relation to Paul) won his first (and perhaps only) Daytona 500 last weekend. Gosh I miss Florida sometimes.With Serbia pledging a long fight, I wondered about our friend Sniper (guesswhoiam). See his post from yesterday about the American Embassy being attacked.
Speaking of political change, Uncle Fidel ”retired” this week handing over the reigns of power to his little bro, Raul. Cubans everywhere celebrated with a cigar and some paella. I think they may be a tad premature and we should wait until some stability returns and see how Raul handles this new power. Expect fireworks down there shortly.
There were some fireworks in space this week when the Pentagon shot down a failed spy satellite. Yeah, sure you were worried about the fuel…see jorseabeck’s post from earlier this week for some conspiracy theory fodder.
Did you catch the other action in space this week with the total lunar eclipse on Wednesday night? Pretty near cool me thinks.
There was more wicked weather in the South this week. Here, it is just shitty and cold. I need me some Spring! Here is what parts of Colorado looked like this week:
Snow; West Butte, CoIt was quite the outdoors week for the elder men in the FB family. I went pheasant hunting on Tuesday and had a blast. It was cold, but we were well insulated. I think we shot about 19 birds. My Dad went fishing on Wednesday in Idaho ( they live in Montana most of the year) and here is part of that they caught (he and his friend both caught their limit):

We are learning more about last Week’s FOTW, Steve Kasmierzcak. I thought he deserved to be FOTW again this week. If all of the students have behaved like this, only Steve would be dead.

I personally think that Fidel has been dead for years and they recorded all the videos a couple of years ago. It’s really weird that if he’s alive why would he deprive his fellow countrymen from seeing him - live.
Anyway, the last time an American embassy has been brought down, the U.S. Army bombed the guys held responsible to [where they belong], doesn’t it?
I’m with ya on the need for some SPRING weather.
Sniper: I think Serbia is playing with fire. The Kosovars should be free! Taking down an American Embassy is tantamount to a declaration of war. Maybe Obama can save the planet?
Cin: OMG I need me some Spring badly. This has been a brutal Winter and I want to hang out in my private forest and burn things.

Congratulations to FBdad! It is a gorgeous fish. Will it be mounted, ate, or set free?
I am lead to believe, and FloridaDad can correct me if I am wrong, but that fish is a ‘native’ steelhead, so it was released (it is the law). The ’stocked’ fish, which look a little less colorful, were smoked or grilled. I think he and his friend caught three of each. The fillets weigh about four pounds each.
Congrats to FBdad!! That’s an awesome fish - too bad you couldn’t mount it. What a prize to hang on your wall.
I hope you enjoyed the fish you got to fry (grill/smoke) anyway!! And congrats to you FB on your pheasants - do you eat them? Never had them - probably never will - LOL - I’m funny that way. Have a hard time eating the deer hubby kills. However if I ever hit one with my car - I probably won’t feel that way anymore. LOL My daughter hit one on the way home from college last weekend. Thank goodness she was going pretty slow - just a couple dints in her hood. She said “Mom come get these feathers out of my car!!” I just rolled and said honey deer don’t have feathers - they have hair - she said whatever - get it out of my hood!! She’s a real blonde! I’m so grateful she’s got book smarts! LOL
I am also sooooooooooo ready for Spring to get here - this cold weather sucks! Would love to move back to Florida or move to Arizona!!
I missed the eclipse and I really wanted to see it. People at work say it was pretty cool.
As they all deserve to be FOTW - my vote goes to the father of the text messenger. He really needs to be………..well I’ll keep to myself what needs to be done to him. What a f***tard!!
