Weekend Rewind
Friday night: Band Boosters duty for Marching band at the High School football game. It was the cross-town rivalry, Oswego East vs. Oswego HS. We beat East handily, 30 to 6. Five hours it took from carrying equipment from the band room until the game was over and we picked up garbage from the stands. The team has made the playoffs, but the band will only be doing “pep”; no more half-time shows, thankfully.
Saturday: Slept very late, then spent the day chain-sawing trees that feel during a recent storm. All went up in flames in a big fire, except for some bigger logs that will help warm the house this winter. Lot’s of fun, but there were no Pope shaped flames. Watched nearly nothing sports related and crashed on my chair early. Bama gave Tennessee a serious whuppin. We have a bye this week, then meet LSU in a nationally televised game on Nov. 3. Roll Tide.
Sunday: Early morning chores and breakfast, then golf in the high winds at Springbrook. I had my worst round of the year, but still had fun. BigHook and I got to see the last few minutes of the Bears victory over the Eagles in the clubhouse. They pulled that one out at the very last second. Griese went 7-of-9 for 97 yards on the final drive. We were impressed and surprised. And how about those RedSox? Also impressive and surprising!
All in all, not a bad weekend. How was YOUR weekend?

The Steelers lost. I don’t want to talk about it.
Whilst Bama was showing the Vols a good time in T-Town, I ventured over to the big metropolis of Birmingham with a girlfriend and took in some culture. We saw the broadway production of Phantom of the Opera.
Where’s ZappaCrappa? ROLL TIDE BRO!!
Roll Sox Roll
The Sox on on a roll at the right time. But then again, so are the Rockies who have been phenomenal in their last 30 games or so. It should be a good showdown, but I predict Boston will prevail.
Zappa Crappa is likely drowning his Tennessee loss in some Coors light and lots of bass fishing
And the gurgling water horn.
I can’t believe the Gamecocks were beat by a college named after blue jeans. It was a bad football weekend for me.
I became a Rutgers fan this weekend.
The use of the GWH goes without saying.
I used a GWH at Rutgers once. It was 5 foot tall and red called the Scarlet Knight.
Did it require a second person to operate it properly?
I was also a USC fan this weekend. Notre Dame blows.
Went to Smith lake with derf and did well catching bream, bass and catfish. Then high Tide. After the game went to The Alabama Theatre for campaign rally for Vincent Damon Furnier. He wants to get “Elected”. He won my vote with a blistering set.
Yeah yeah yeah…what a SHITTY week for my teams. After further review…the Vols SUCK this year. Go Appalachian State!!!
To make matters worse….fishing SUCKS!!! I haven’t caught anything for almost 2 weeks. Plus…After my in-laws had this huge windfall of money, all the kids got businesses and houses…except for my wife (out of sight, out of mind I guess). She did, however, get a nice house on a nice piece of lake property willed to her/us. And of course it was vacant and burned down to the ground this weekend. That’s my weekend in a nutshell….I think I’ll start drinking more.
ZC, those are serious bummers. I hate it when I am willed stuff that burns up.
BTW, that IS why they call it fishing instead of catching
Weirdsin, Does that mean you saw Alice Cooper?
