Dem Debates
Did you watch the CNN/You Tube debate of the democratic candidates for the presidency? I thought the questions were a LOT better than the answers. I also kinda of liked the format which broke the mold for debates of this nature. I also gained new found respect for one of the candidates (see if you can guess who and no it was NOT Hilleroid), but that Gravel dude has completely lost any chance he may have had. Dude just went all funky.
Who do you think came out on top?

I didn’t watch it. I’ve pretty much sworn off politics at this point because it is an effort in futility that only results in my getting my blood pressure up. I think I’ll vote for anyone who has the balls to stand up and say something like, “Our system is screwed, our government cares NOTHING anymore about doing what is right and cares only about partisanship, the vast majority of American people are just too collectively stupid to be trusted to make an intelligent decision without being told what to think by some party talking head and couldn’t be trusted to cast an intelligent, informed vote for town dog catcher, much less a president.”
By the way, the guy over at the agitator has an interesting take on the “YouTube” version of the debates and poses a few VERY good interesting questions that I, myself, would like to see ALL the candidates answer. Go to the link and scroll down…it’s 3-4 subject headings from the top. http://www.theagitator.com
Believe it or not, there were questions preceded by statements quite similar to the one you made above. Again, the questions were by far better than the answers (some of which were simple political non-answers). The Baptist minister asking a question about gay rights that he introduced by asking about the Bible’s use in defending slavery and not allowing women to vote was one that I remember. The minister was also in the audience to confront John Edwards when he gave a political answer to the question. Anderson Cooper made Edwards answer it again directly. It was his answer that increased his standing in my opinion. Now, when his standing is just below that of what lies under a frog’s weiner when it is under a toadstool, lifting it up a notch isn’t much.
Cool link to some intersting stuff from Radly Balko, who is a great thinker.
My problems with Edwards are numerous. The MAIN problem I have with Edwards is that he is an ambulance chaser. My second problem is that he is a hypocrite (for someone that seems to spit out the word “poor” in every other sentence, he sure lives AWFULLY large on his ambulance chasing profits. Another problem is that I lived in NC when he was elected as a representative, he immediately began campaigning for president and NEVER did his job…he was too concerned about becoming the top dog.
Wait…I said I was not participating in the political debacle this time around so…nevermind : )
You are a participant in the democratic process whether you like it or not. Edwards is a snake, pure and simple. The only way he is ever President is if he is someone’s running mate, they win, and then die, placing him in office. He IS an ambulance chasing fuckatard who should stay home (in his new energy sucking mansion) and tend to his hair and his very ill wife.
